I have an 03 explorer and I just replaced the 4.0 liter enginee due to clogged catalytic converters. The shop charged the AC but it only worked for less than two hours. I thought it was leaking so I tried some leak detector but could not get the AC to engage. Then I discovered the Fuse for the AC clutch (#10 on the interior fuse panel) was blown. I replaced it, charged the system, then two hours later - same problem. I spent way more than I ever wanted to replace the engine (and then the converters) so I want to avoid anotehr mechanic bill. any suggestions?
