03 engine in 02 4.6?

hey i found a 4.6 engine from a 03 cheap with a bad head gasket and was thinking about getting it, i can fix it in school and just have a extra engine for my 02. but i was looking at engine prices and some of them said that they fit 03-05 and some said 02 only. so my question is, is there a differance in the 02 from the other 3rd gens and if so what would i have to do to get the 03 engine in my 02 X?

The 4.6 V-8 was introduced in 1990, believe it or not, and surely the blocks have pretty much remained similar over the years, with only heads being radically different from each other (SOHC, DOHC). So, it would seem likely FIT would not be any problem.

Auxiliary stuff, ignition, fuel, etc, are not all alike, but so what? imp
