03 engine swap compatibility

I need help with some answers if anyone can help me out, id greatly appreciate it!
I was wondering if an engine (4.6 also) from a mustang or an f-150 would be compatible with my 03 explorer, and if so what year(s)?

I am doing an engine swap as well. I am going from the 4.0 SOHC V6 to the 4.6 OHC V8. I know if you are doing the same you will need a new computer, wiring harness, and trans mission to start. So, yes it will fit but it is not an exact bolt in.
