I have read all of the posts I can about the actuator/blend door fixes on the Explorers. I went to WWW.HeaterTreater.Net, and looked at the last picture for the 02-08 Explorers where it talks about zip tying the blend door arm down. I should get heat, but after doing that, I still have no heat.
Any ideas?

03 blend door

Thanks Brooklyn Bay....your post has helped me a lot in determining where the belnd door and actuator are located....I zip tied open the blend door which I thought would give me heat ( this is actually my 20 year old son's vehicle and he attends college 2 hours away ) anyway, all we get is cold air even after we have prooped open the blend door....I'm stumped...I know that the actuator probably needs replaced but I was sure that after reading your post that keeping the belnd door zip tied open would work until I actually got a whole day to work on it.....

And the heater inlet hose has a vacuum motor controlled valve in it before it goes thru the firewall. Make sure that valve isn't stuck closed and the hose is hot on both sides of that valve. Here's some good pictures of how racin8 did a home repair on his to get heat going again.
