I got a 2003 explorer with the v6. Parked it about 6 months ago and its dead now, thinks its the battery so im gonna get the batt charged and get er in the garage and get it going again. Its got about 80k on it and i plan on changing the fuel, oil and air filters. And a new batt of course. Any tips on what else i can do to help it last another 80k? Wondering about plugs or thermostat or what not, that might need to be replaced soon. Thanks

Check your brake and exhaust system to make sure there is no rust. You don't want to find out you have no brake or emergency brakes the hard way. Exhaust pipe may have rusted and have holes. While you're at it check the serpentine belt and hoses. Get the vehicle going and them determine if tune up is needed. One last thing, change your wiper blades, I can only imagine that they're hard.

Hey, thanks I will add that to the list. I am also wondering what the beefiest tire size i can put on the stock wheels, to make it look and work a litlle better. Current tires are p235/70/R16. Needs new tires anyway, so i figured why not beef em up a bit. Thanks
