03 expo 4.6 how can i ????

ok i love how the mustang sounds ,, how can i get my 4.6 expo to sound like a mustang , since motors are almost identical , what would i need ?

There are enough differences to make them sound different, the exhaust manifolds alone will change the sound some. If you like the stock mustang sound you could probably buy mustang mufflers and find an exhaust shop willing to make them work on an explorer. Also listen to exhaust clips here on the forum and places like youtube and find something you like. It's never going to sound just like a mustang, just to many variables you can probably get it close though.

I read somewhere on the forum that you have to gut or get rid of the cats to help make that sound but not sure if its true or not.
