03 XLT keeps forgetting key fob

I bought a used 03 Explorer about a year ago and the key fob was pretty much destroyed. So I bought a cheap Dorman fob. I programmed it and it worked fine. For a year. Now, for some reason, the Explorer "forgets" the fob and I have to reprogram it. It's happening about twice a week now. Anyone every run into this?

That's what I thought the first time it happened, so I swapped the battery. Nothing. Well, Dorman doesn't have a good reputation...for anything, so I thought my cheap little fob died. I hadn't gotten around to replacing it but it popped in my head to try and reprogram my current fob before I bought a new one. What do you know, it worked. And it worked for two days, then my Exp forgot it again and I had to retrain it. As I said in my OP, it's gotten to be 2-3 times a week now where my Exp forgets my fob.
