I happened to notice that my battery cables were pretty crusty on my 2004 Explorer with the 4.0 motor. I pulled them off to clean them today. I regret it. The truck was running great but now it will start but barely run at all. The wrench light is on so it seems to be in safe mode? I removed the negative cable and let it sit for 1/2 hour and it still does the same thing. I used my code reader and have codes p2104 and p2112. I saw another post where someone says to clear the PCM's memory by using jumper wires negative to positive. Here is a video. Would that help? I have cleared the codes with my reader already but it made no difference. Should I do it like in the video? What else can I do? Very frustrating to be able to mess up a perfectly good running vehicle just by cleaning the cables!! Thank you for any help.
