04 max tire for stock 16 rim

Hi. Im looking to get a new set of ltx's for my 04 with stock 16 inch rims. I currently have 235/70-16. I would like to not go much taller but definetly want a wider tire. Also can I mount the spare in the original location with the larger tire???? Please help me im new here and completely lost when it comes to this.. Just looking for the max size without any mounting problems or rubbing problems, just want the EX to have a little more meat on her bones.

285 what? The second number is a bit more important than the 1st.

75....whoops, he said he didnt want a taller tire soo i just assumed putting the width on reply haha.

I went with 255 70 16. No problems with rub or anything. A little taller and little wider. Just fills in that space between tire and wheel well better.

Thanks for the response. I was worried they would rub. I finally decided on ltx m2's. I almost went for the cooper tires but decided on the mich's due to everyone in this forum raving about them. Hope to post some pics of my ex soon, just waiting for a sunny day. Tint and kenwood 7inch double din next!
