Oh, ok. Well, with aftermarket wheels included in that price, it's actually not that bad. Still a good bit of labor, but not outrageous.

I'm a teenager looking to get my sport trac lifted I was wondering what I should get? Should I get a 6 inch body lift

Well that's safe... Not haha. If you're looking for a big lift on a budget doing the 3" body lift and torsion twist is your best bet. If you don't have the mech know how then you may wanna stay away from the body lift... For now. And take This advice from Lono and I, save up. I'm a senior in high school now and I spent WAY too much on my truck the past 3 years. (my own money not my daddy...). You start dumping money into it then every little detail will start to bother you. Well atleast to me it does. I say take the Tt and shackle route , throw some 33's under it and call it a day.

FWIW, further education will definitely be a better investment than a lifted truck. College or a trade school is a must these days.

^the wise man has spoken haha. Plain and simply I'm going to a tech school luckily scholarships are helping me. But like offtrac said don't sacrifice your education for a lifted truck... It's already took enough of my life over.

*taken*
English class kicking in lol

I have money for college (aka my parents) but I have to pay for my gas and anything that I want done with my truck that is why I have a pt job, im going to college (A student, 4.4 gpa, top 15 rank etc,). I was just looking for help.

I want to lift my truck up and I want answers if i should go with a body lift or suspension lift, or what other options do I have and where did yall get your lift kits and how much? I have about 1500 to spend but i just need some help to see what I could get with my money and what things yall (people that have lifted the sport trac) have done.

With that kind of money you can do a superlift. It's a 4" kit. Direct bolt on. It doesn't really give you much ground clearance. A body lift is cheaper but some fab work is involved. Imo i don't like body lifts because they're plain and simply not safe. Lifting a vehicle off of its frame creates a lot of sway. I rode in a jeep with one and I thought I was about to die. Or go the cheaper route and do the Tt and shackles. Only about 2" of lift but it's almost free before an alignment. and then save the money for something else you want to do to the truck? Bigger tires, sound system, etc. but those three are about the only thing on the market that you can do.

Been there, done that. High school performance is hardly an indicator of college performance, but I wish you well and happy studying. Make sure you have enough (or your parents are willing to pay your way for 6-8 years) for grad/professional school or go into a field that is a hard science or finance.

Not quite true. Figure about another grand.

Unless you're jumping sand dunes, I completely disagree.

you can find used ones on here for about a grand. For the front kit atleast. Do an soa in the rear and you're good. Only reason why I don't really like body lifts though is just because of on road use. Just in my opinion. Many guys have them on here use them and love them. Even on road they like them but Just from my experience in a body lifted wrangler altered my decision to do one. Then again that's a wrangler not a sport trac. I just didn't wanna take my chances ya know?

just go the cheaper route and get the body lift and tt with shackles. then put 33's on. go to summitracing.com. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRA-70023/. free shipping to your door, itll be there before they even take your money out of your bank account. atleast it was for me lol. there are huge amounts of threads on the body lift, torsion twist, and shackles. use the search bar.

Every Wrangler I have been in has been a terrible ride.

Dukefan, I got some advice that will help you a lot in college. You're gonna have to do a little research and a lot of homework. Unless you're trying to reinvent the art of lifting a Sport Trac, it's all been done and discussed here before. The "just tell me exactly what to do and where to get it" questions don't get very good responses here. Not trying to be a jerk, I promise, but full magazine sized articles are all over this site and most people aren't going to take the time to rewrite it every week.

This is really the best anyone can do for you. Start with the following link. Professors will do less.

i agree, we have a wrangler JK and the ride is nothing like an explorer. plus they are super cramped, but they handle business off road. they have crazy turning radius and are easy to lift, mod and work on because so many companies make parts for them.
