Hello Ford friends. I've been combing over the 5R55E VB Rebuild Diary the last couple of days and I'm sooo grateful for all the information generously submitted in those pages.
My 04 Sport Trac's 5R55E is experiencing the 2-3 flare for the third time in 60K miles. It's not throwing any codes and the flare is mild and very intermittent but I'm feening to fix it once and for all. With the wealth of info in the diary, I am confident I can undertake this project.
However, I'm concerned that some part numbers do not match up with some vendor 'search' catalogs and I'm coming up blank. I'm wondering if model or part numbers have changed since the original posts (which date back to '05). Moreover I want to avoid ordering wrong parts altogether.
It would be greatly appreciated if the proper part numbers for my 2004 Sport Trac is listed here by anyone! I prefer OEM parts, but given the fact that I already have a rebuilt trans which may have the Ford fix in it already, I am considering aftermarket stuff as well. Alas, I'm confused about those part numbers as well.
