Hello all I am new to this, I have a 2005 XLT and my wife was driving it today and said the truck shut off and it said safe mode low oil pressure. By the time I got there I started the truck up and all was fine and she drove away. It was hot out about 95 and the oil level was fine is this just a glitch or can I fix my self. Keep in mind I am an army ranger great at blowing things up, OK at fixing them.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the stock 2002-2005 section. Check the oil pressure with a test gauge. It might have a bad oil pump if it's knocking or a bad sensor if the pressure gauge shows sufficient pressure.

This happened to me, it would say low oil pressure b/c the engine stalled but the key was still in the run position.

Progressively started going into safe mode more and more until it finally threw codes for a bad TPS and EGR pressure sensor. (integrated into the EGR valve, so you have to get a whole new valve assembly.)
