06 brake proportioning valve?

New light on my brake issue. New to me 06 Limited. LOW brake pedal so...cut rotors and new pads....still low and brakes sucked. Noticed LR brake VERY hot compared to others and could feel it drag. Replaced all 4 brake hoses cleaned and bleed. Pedal still low???

AND

After further driving discovered that the FRONT brakes are NOT really doing anything...stone cold....but bleed out well during changes?

Is there a proportioning valve that needs to be reset? or is this just the MC gone dead?
(FYI the fronts WILL lock-up...skeet...skeet per the ABS slamming on the brakes)

No proportioning valve at Gen4 brake system.

hmm....really...kinda wierd. Must be the master. They are all a little different on configurations but with the abs systems now it gets different. Since the abs is actually a PUMP to generate pressure I guess thats why the fronts WOULD lock up (well actually almost lock up) when SLAMMED.

ON another NOTE: the Raybestos brake lines I received from Rockauto SUCKED. the "hex" part that goes into the frame mount was NOT CORRECT! (i have pics will post once I figure out pics...) I had to FILE the shape in the ends so they would function correctly ..AND the CENTRIC rear rotors (with rust gaurd) they spray black expoxy on the exposed areas....INCLUDING THE E-BRAKE DRUM!!!! Why can't i buy stuff that simply BOLTS on?

Use Only oem parts for brake application.especially if you want bolt on app.

I recently replaced rotors, pads and parking brake hardware and shoes all around. I used Brembo rotors and Akebono high performance pads. The Brembo rotors fit perfectly and weren't much more expensive than other premium brands and less than OEM. The Akebono pads are fantastic. I used them previously on my 2007 Mustang along with Powerstop drilled, ventilated rotors with very good results. An added bonus is the Akebono pads leave very little pad residue on the wheels. I did use the Ford kit to replace the parking brake hardware and shoes. So far I am very pleased with how the braking systems work on both vehicles. I think there are circumstances where non OEM parts can work just fine if the right brands are used. Fluids (with the exclusion of engine oil and brake fluid) is one area I will only use OEM products. If I am in a pinch and need a part immediately, and getting to a Ford dealer isn't possible, then I buy from NAPA. Autozone, Advanced Auto etc. are not places I will buy parts from.

conclusion: MC was dead....swapped, bleed...DONE!
On to the mirror cam install!
