Back after not posting for a while -- no job = no money = no working on the X.

Anyways, I was thinking about getting Aviator mirrors for my X, but after seeing them in person, decided against it. Instead, I've been thinking of getting the '06+ rectangular mirrors. The service DVD leads to me believe that they are electrically compatible, only needing a different connector (diagram shows '05 as having slots on the connector, and '06 has round holes)... can anyone confirm this?

My only concern is that they won't fit onto the truck -- does anyone know if the mounting holes are in the same spot and if the part that actually mounts against the truck is the same size?

EDIT: hellBay leads me to think that it will work... could another pair of eyes confirm?

they look to be similar, and i like those mirrors as well. if you try it, let me know if it works... not sure though, have you tried asking a ford dealer?

*they SHOULD be some help?*

But good idea, I may look into it as well.

I wish... the dealers in my area are absolutely useless. When I had a legitimate problem with my truck (fuse blew, couldn't find it, needed some direction), it took me calls to 8-10 dealerships and a good hour of my time before I got someone on the phone who could narrow it down to a few fuses.

There aren't any JYs around me, or I'd go hunting around to find a few wrecked trucks to test it out on.

ive got to go in to get my antenna fixed (i snapped the screw half off in the actual part on the body - horrible description?) but basically i have an on demand removable antenna. its been that way for nearly 2 years and has yet to fly out, and i do some crazy driving, so im kind of impressed. but i will see if the dealers around me can offer any guidance.
