I was checking the trans fluid level on my wife's Mtneer earlier tonight. I took it for a drive and then had it idling in the garage for about 10 minutes. I turned off the engine to clean up tools and got in the car to move it and it won't start. The light on the dash blinks fast. The owner's manual says if you see this you have to take it to the dealer. I have tried both keys and neither worked. My wife needs the car in the morning for work :( Do I really have to have this thing towed to the stealer, or is there something I can do? I already tried waiting it out like I used to have to do when I tripped the security on my Cavalier back in the day.

It was just working fine! Sometimes technology sucks

dealer ship.

This just happened to a friends f150 (2004) they had to get a new BCM. It droppped all the keys and couldnt go into program mode.

A locksmith with the programming tools can MAYBE do it too. If its just a matter of where the keys wre dropped. But if he cant get into programming then its the BCM.

Lucked out!

Tried it again this morning after letting it chill all night, hoping I could get it running before my wife woke up. At this point she still has no idea her car isn't working lol. No luck. The blinking red light is still mocking me. I start racking my brain trying to figure out if I could have tripped something last night. All I remember doing is trying to start it with the driver door open, and it didn't like that one bit. That is when the blinking started. So I tried getting in, closing the door and starting, nothing. Tried closing the door, using the key in the door from the outside, get in, close the door and try to start, nothing. As a litch ditch attempt I get out and close the door. Door is unlocked at this point. Use the KEYPAD to unlock the already unlocked driver door. Get in, put the key in the ignition, and notice no blinking light! I turn the key and the damn thing starts! Just to make sure I'm not imagining things I turn it off and start it again. Wooo!

I would love to try and recreate what happened and see if the keypad will fix it again, but I am too scared that it won't. At this point I am just hoping it doesn't relapse.
