I've suddenly gone from 28miles/gal highway, to 16. Engine seems to run good as usual, no lopping or hesitation, tires are inflated, rotors seem to be loose enuff.

It does 63KM(41+-M) highway on 1/8 tank.

Should I get a diagnostic run on it?

I ran a thread a few weeks ago and asked if the plugs could be changed, and everyone said I had a ways to go yet. Do these engines need valve adjustments at 32K? Timing checked?.

Any help would be appreciated.

Could be winter blend fuel?

Could be winter blend fuel?

Winter blend is probably part of it. I would suggest also to make sure that the engine is warming up. If it doesn't warm up, fuel economy will suffer.

Winter blend and winter temperatures.

By the way, I'm noticing that my 2007 2.3L Ranger's economy dropped with the winter fuel used here in Oregon. But I noticed today that a 15 minute warm-up idle in 35* weather didn't budge the temperature gauge - which make me suspect a stuck-open or too low a temp thermostat.

It's going to the dealer in January to fix a front-end clunk that's existed from day 1, I'm going to also bug them about the "over" cooling system.
