I have an 06 4.6 Explorer XLT with 159,000 miles and there is a coolant leak. It is getting on the spark plugs. There is none in the oil but several of the spark plug boots come out with moisture on them and the plugs look horrible.

Thats a pretty general statement! You will need to narrow down where the coolant is coming from. It could be a hose or the radiator!

on the outside of the boots or the inside?

Pictures are helpful. On the business end of the plugs, or the side that the wire slides over?

I just had a leak on top of the engine, and it turned out to be the clamp on the left side of the engine where the heater house is coming out. It is located right under the air intake tube. Ford uses a spring clamp, I replaced it with a screw type. The coolant was collecting around plug #1 .

It will not allow me to post attachments. I have several pics. The outside of the boot is wet. Number 7 is worse than the others. The spark plug looks like it is covered in some kind of grease when it is removed.

Intake manifold gasket ????
