2007 explorer XLT 4.0 v6
I purchase this explorer last year I got about 3 weeks out of it before it stalled on the freeway was towed to ford by my wife
They replaced the battery the alternator and the throttle body and reprogrammed the PCM

It worked for about a week

Before randomly stalling almost consistently but it would restart after about 5 minutes it has gotten absolutely worse to where it is now a cranks but no start
And at best I can get it to run baby 2 minutes before it closes the throttle body and kills the motor

It was took back to Ford because you know we had already paid for this repair and then they wanted to just replace the PCM and engine harness and TCM as well
obviously I laughed at the 17,000 they wanted to repair it obviously they really didn't want to do the job since this is an $1,800 vehicle but it is rust free and all working other than this issue

I have a OTC Genesis evo code scanner updated to 2013 for most vehicles so I can do close to dealer level scanning

P0462 fuel level sensor low I have since fixxed this with a new fuel pump and sending unit

P0300 random misfire this has since been fixed quick new plugs wires and motorcraft coil pack assembly

P0136 fire occurred and first thousand engine revolution this was also fixed with the coil pack assembly

P060A internal control module monitoring processor performance

P061f internal control module throttle actuator controller performance

P0600 serial communication link malfunction

U0300 internal control module software incompatibility

P1674 electrical feedback did not mirror rising degree

P2105 forced throttle shutdown

Parts I replaced motorcraft coil pack
Plugs wires and the fuel pump

I replace the coil pack on a whim from reading the forums here before becoming a member it let's just say it did not solve the problem but did solve some problems
Fuel pump was replaced as the gauge was not reading and occasionally would show zero PSI at the rail that has also not fixed the problem but now I have between 55 and 64 PSI at the rail

When it does run it will run perfectly fine sometimes for an hour sometimes you 5 minutes and then it will just randomly stall

The only code that triggers when it stalls is the 2105 forced throttle shutdown

I have checked the entire harness I did find some bad spots but only at the throttle body I replaced the connector and used heat shrink tubing and wire crimps
My scan tool shows throttle body opens and closes as it should when you activate it it reads the pedal position properly
I'm doing this repair myself I tend to be above average for the backyard mechanic

I'm just seeing if anyone else has seem to have this problem most have it with the V8 model not the six cylinder

I mean the next direction seems to be replacing the PCM
I've just baffled at this repair
And I assumed with the throttle codes and then finding bad wiring at the throttle body connector that would fix it I'll admit it did drive for 70 miles after that repair like nothing was wrong at all no codes lit up on the dash and then randomly it just shut down again
I then noticed while I was scanning I was getting 0 psi readings at the rail I assumed maybe the fuel pump went out I had checked all fuses everything was good I used the fuel pump test connector and I could not get the fuel pump to run being as also the gauge was the only other thing that wasn't working when I bought the vehicle I decided just to go ahead and repair the fuel pump now I have a working gauge and proper PSI first start afterwards it ran for 5 minutes beautifully I was like oh good I think I fixed it and then it sputtered out with that same set of codes

All right so after a few more weeks I did about 30 total wiring connector repairs I went to head and replaced the PCM with one program for the vehicle installed it didn't have any codes other than the Anti-Theft ended up having to pay a locksmith to come out and program keys and it worked and it's on the road and driving
