I have an 08 V6 Sport Trac, and I'm wondering if it would be at all possible to tow an approximately 4600-4800lb vehicle (I'm gutting it for offroad use) with the Sport Trac. I'm hoping to tow the other vehicle on a trailer to prevent tire wear on the vehicle in tow.
I know the maximum towing is 5250lb, but does anyone know of a trailer (hopefully not wood) that is at least 16' x 7' that weighs less than 400 pounds?
I found an aluminum trailer that is 78" x 16', but for weight the website says "1050#." I'm guessing that actually the weight rating, not the weight of trailer, but I could be wrong.
I don't really know much about towing or hauling, with the exception of just pulling things (trees, etc.).

On a side note, does anyone think they know the average weight of a leather rear seat assembly from a common SUV (I think it's a 2 part bench).

Please help, thank you.

1050 lbs actually sounds reasonable for an aluminum trailer. I don't think you are going to find a 16' car trailer that weighs 400 lbs or less.

That weight is very low even for an aluminum trailer. My 18ft feather lite is 1800lbs with slight mods.
