Currently, I'm running twin single in/single out Flowmaster 40 Originals. I want to quiet it down a bit, so I'm looking at the 50 series.

What's the sound difference between 1 dual in/dual out muffler and 2 single in/single out mufflers (all other things being equal, i.e. type of muffler)?

you could always go with 1 dual in single out 40 so ud have a rumble but not quite so loud and ud get some of your back pressure back in the process... Unless u want the dual look then meh i dunno lol

I'm thinking if you have 2 mufflers, it is the equivalent of having a muffler twice the size of a muffler with dual ports. Then I'm thinking a larger muffler would give a quieter but deeper bassy sound as opposed to a smaller muffler which would give a raspy tinny sound, no?

I definately want the dual outs for the looks and I already have the pipes wired up. I was just about to order one 50 SUV dual in/dual out, but then I was thinking, would the sound be better with two 50 SUV single in/single out?
