A body lift won't move expensive parts up

Keep in mind body lift won't do anything but give you room for bigger tires. Kicking the suspension up a bit may give you more room for tires, but will also move the breakover point up higher. That's a bigger deal for a supercab Ranger than an Explorer, I suppose.

As for spacers frying the alignment, chances are that your alignment is already fried - coils sag over time, and at 65K my Ranger's coils have settled but good, so spacing made more sense than new coils. Went from 2.5 degree camber bushings to .5 degree bushings, so my suspension geometry is a lot happier as well. Got an excellent local shop to do the alignment, with high priced bushings it was $135. Cost of one tire, in other words.

Keep in mind if your radius arm bushings have never been changed, your alignment won't stay aligned very long. Had mine done to me (long story) at 55K, so not an issue this time around.
