I'm still deciding where to put my tweeters too.

That's a tough one. There's not a lot of space behind the plastic panel of the pillar. I don't think flush mount tweeters will fit, as they require quite a bt of depth, almost like an inch to fit the tweeter and it's swivel structure to hold it. Plus, the tweeter being 1" in diameter is one thing, but the structure pod that holds it is even larger than that.

A surface mount will probably fit, but then you won't get to swivel it in a position that's most desirable and it sticks out, but you should have no problem finding space to mount it.

Sort of between a rock and a hard place. :( But in direct answer, no, don't think there's a kit to fit the X besides kick panel pods.

Anything can be done.

It all depends on how much you want to spend. A good stereo shop should be able to fabricate a set of fiberglass pods that would blend in with the pillar/dash. Only problem is it would cost you. I've seen cars with whole dashboards and center consoles that are custom made. They look great, but were expensive.

I surfaced mounted mine infront of those pillars and I think they sound great. Never had any problems or anything.

JTang - I was at your site and noticed that your moulding and stuff was painted and it looks great and I wanted to know how much they cost to be painted?

I would suggest doing a temporary install Before doing anything permanant. I would try my tweeters in several locations using 2sided tape before making a permanent hole in my door. I personally found that while using the location as Okrazie1 used was ok (top of doors) I found that kick panels is the optimum way of mounting your high's/mids. The top door location is very very poor for imaging. The high frequencies bounce of the glass and all over the cabin before reaching your ears. And the distance b/w passenger and driver tweeters is FAR too great....meaning you will hear the left frequencies way before your right frequencies. Optimumly you want the speaker locations equally distant away from you as possible. If you do not want to do kick panels...there is a kit out there now to put your tweeter behind the door next to your mid driver angling it towards the listener. Also any competent installed would be able to do this for you if they don't have the kit.

Hi Ryan,

I e-mailed you, if you didn't get it, let me know!
