I thought I'd let you guys know about my experience with these two setups. I was running a 10" mtx 6000 with about 200 watts that I had taken out of my Ranger when I traded into the explorer. To save room I thought I would trade some bass and put in an 8" unamplifed bazooka rs. Imagine my surprise when running the amp at the same settings that the bazooka tube BLEW AWAY the 10" mtx. Neither one will wake up the neighborhood but neither sounds bad either. I just couldn't believe that the tube plays so much louder. I guess this just goes to show that bazooka knows more about building enclosures than I do.

Zooka tubes kick ass.

Most matched woofers and enclosures will outperform custom built, because they are matched perfectly, so the trick is to build custom enclosures that are also matched perfectly.

I will be using a self powered 8" zook in my boat :) Boats are perfect apps for the tube because it can be tied down easy, there is no need to wire an amp, and you can take it with you in the off season...

Recently I went from 2-12" Soudstream subs to a single Boston Acoustics Competitor 2ohm 12". With 1 cubic foot of airspace in a sealed enclosure this sucker gives me back my cargo space and outperforms both of those 12's...........the speaker was deisnged for the exact enclosure I built sounds perfect for me........
