100,000 Mile Club

me too

Well, i guess i can throw my 2 cents worth in the pot and join the 100k club. My 97 has a 103k on it and i've had a few things go wrong nothing major:

1) Of course the tranny at about 100K along with the tourque converter

2) Emergancy break shoes were about to shatter so we replaced those

3) Front and rear brakes with new front rotors

4) New sway bar bushings--front

5) Most recent thing--Rack and pinion (twice in the same week)

6) Steer column shaft (from the firewall to the rack)

7) PS pump, twice in the same week

Not to bad i don't guess. The valves are starting to talk to me a little bit. I got a friend here in town who is known for building the best Ford motors around, so i think i'm going to get with him and see what he thinks about rebuilding my motor.

Is it possible to replace the cam and everything thing that goes with it with out pulling the motor? Iv'e never pulled a motor out before, just everything else! Where would be a good place to buy a cam and stuff for a OHV in my beast?

Thanks in advance!
Happy trailes!

1993 here with 150,000 and stronger now than ever. Nothing major replaced except for normal wear and tear items. If you take care of it...it will take care of you!

still goin'

This past summer I rolled over 136K on mine. Still runs like new. I worked out in the middle of nowhere so I had to drive some distance if I wanted to go somewhere and do something. I also towed my boat with it some, and to no surprise, did excellent.
2 major repairs:
50K - rear differential seal ($1000)
124K - U-joint ($300)

The rain gutters on the roof are starting to rust on the edges. I might have to look into patching that up before it gets any worse. I think the radio is about shot, but I've been looking at a new head unit for a while for whenever the time comes.
I am just amazed at how well this truck has done. It had served me (and the former owner, my dad) very well. It will be 10 years old in October. I'm sure it will get me through graduation in 2004, hopefully well beyond that. I'm gonna keep it stock for the most part, mainly for monetary reasons. Anyway, take it easy.

I'm thumping on 180,000 miles and it still hasn't had any motor work or transmission work done. So far just the alt, water pump, converted to manual hubs and radiator.

111,000

Only, new vehicle and only one that I paid off. Got it new and have maintained it well with no failers (except starter--pac w/mud). Things are starting to go though: T-stat, pwrwindow, small stuff. I used the cheep oil with 1qrt synthetic on 4-5K intervals and change the trany fluid (pan) with the good stuff 12-15K. The X runs good and I beat it hard. Praise God!!

130,000 no problems, other than its not as high as I want, body lift on the way!!!

My '91XLT has 167K currently. Original trans, engine. Replaced radiator, power steering pump, water pump, fan, complete brakes-master cylinder, pads rebuilt pistons and rear cylinders. Also ABS module. Fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, exhaust, muffler, cat and shocks. Seems like a lot, but not bad over eleven years and it runs like a charm. Did I mention original scarlet red paint too.

Just bought a 93 sport with 100k. I am really impressed on how well it runs. Just wanted to put my foot in the door of the 100k club.

I have 130K on mine. Nothing really has been changed except fluids and plugs/wires and O2 sensors. Does anyone know if it is less expensive to rebuild a transmission before it goes out, or should I just drive it until it needs it?

Thanks

150+k
Nothing major except the tranny.
Fuel pressure regulator, Fuel Filter, O2 sensor, New hubs, Calipers, Roters, + BaT CABLE, One freeze plug, Shocks, Welded driver seat, Fixed center armrest, Thermostat, Belt tensioner.
I'm on my second AC compresor. First one siezed and took out my belt. 2nd one just stoped working, too cheap to fix it.

100,000

Well, it finally rolled over the 100,000 mile mark. I don't know if I should be glad it lasted so long or sad because it's getting old. Oh well...

Congrats, welcome to the club : )

Just bought a 91 XL with 208,000 km. I think thats somewhere around 130,000 miles

135 000 and...

- At least 3 trannies (for what I know),
- At least 4 cluches,
- Fuel gauge sending unit is gone,
- RABS is dead (light was on all the time. I finally removed the fuse so, at least, now I know why).
- Clunking noise under my seat, compliments of the rad arm bushings,
- Leaking power sterring,
- Leaking A/C compressor,
- Leaking radiator,
- A few door armrests,
- The original exhaust fell off on the interstate,
- And, and, and...

Built Ford crap but I like it.

175k on mine now. Still runs like a charm.

Me too...

Oooops. This thread isn't what I thought it was about. I thought it was the 100,000 TIME club! My mistake.

Hehehe, I don't think they allow threads like that sundown ; )

Well I am very happy with my 95' X..I am reaching 150,000 very soon and have had no problems (knock on wood) as of yet..

113,000miles

113,000 miles with one complete clutch job, a few sets of brake shoes and pads (need to to complete brake job in a month or so), 2 cat back exhausts, fuel pump, new shocks (need another set of those too), alternator is about to go, and I think the power steering pump is going to follow it, ball joints. Change your oil too, changed mine finally last night, I think I broke a new record, 12,000miles between changes. I know its not good, but I couldn't find the time to do it. I idles better now too, fixed my rough idle.

130,000!!!

Kinda felt left out, so here I am! Running great, not too many major things.

@75K: U-joint
@120K: Radial Arm and bushings
@130K: Front axle U-Joints
Replacement of auto hubs to warn manuals

Engine runs great, no problems from transmission. Disclaimer: My X is babied. Offroading has been limited to backroading! lol. Planning to get to the 300K club, but it'll be a while.
