11/26-Ball Joint / Brakes are screwed!!

well, the spindle is discolored with evidence from high heat, and the inner race (or whatever the hell its called) is seized onto the spindle. I tried to get it off with pliers, pullers etc, but no dice. I guess I could heat it up, but my OA torch is outta gas. My neighbor said he could get it off with his 20k lb. shop press, but I don't know if its salvagable anyways. what do you think?

is that xtra spindle that aint screwed for the pass. side?

spindles are same on both sides.....

I will look in the morning at the two I have, I must keep one for a trail spare.....

sick dude thanks. Yah no pressure dude, but if ya wouldn't mind lettin a brother know asap, it would be much appreciated. I gotta know if I need to go buy a new one or somethin tomorrow cuz I'm gonna tear back into it so its ready for the desert on Saturday. Thanks!

Well, got the thing all finished up on Friday night, and it made it just fine to the desert on Saturday:)

Replaced the balljoints (PITA), rotors, bearings, ditched the ABS sensors, serviced hubs, and replaced spindle. 410 hooked my ass up with a pretty fresh spindle, so I owe him one (thanks 410!!!:D ). unfortunately, my ABS sensor mounting bracket thing put up a fight coming off. The tiny 8mm 12 pt. bolt holding it on from the back side was stripped to hell from last time I put it back on. I ended up whipping out the old angle grinder with a freshy cutoff wheel on it, and notching the fawk outta the side of the thing. Then I bashed it with a hammer and it fell off.:D I thought I would be screwed but it only took like 3 minutes to do luckily.

Truck rolls pretty smooth now. Something still may be funky about it due to some unusual noised I've been hearing every once in a while, but whatever.

So was it about 9 pm when you finished up the drivers side then?

Hows the alignment look camber wise?

Glad you got it rolling, glad I could help, and next time I am coming to the dessert with you!

Yah I think it was about 9-10ish when I finished. However, my buddy showed up around 830ish and brought beer so thats probly what took so long:D

Yah we shoudl be going to the desert a lot in the spring. There's another trip planned tentatively for late January. Ill letcha know:)

Cool. How did the alignment work out?

Also I ordered my autofab tranny mount today....finally something to get that rubber POS out of there.....

Well alignments kinda off. It looks not too bad, but it veers pretty hardcore to the right and a lot of tire noise and vibration from the outer lugs due to the camber issues. Also, I need to take the angle grinder to that knuckle that was binding up. Theres a pointless lip thing that won't get in the way anymore if I cut it off

Thats cool you bought the tranny mount dude. Beware, you might have to modify your crossmember slightly to get the bolts to go in...they don't know how to make them the right distance apart to fit on ours.

Yeah I figured, remember mine is the Skyjacker x member so it may be even harder to get in there with a grinder, or drill. I would actually have to unbolt the radius arm mounts to get the x member off! No thanks, been there done that 20 times.

I will do it if I have to...so we shall see.
