I got my sub today. Hooked it up around noon and played it at a low volume to break it in for about 5 hours. Then it came time for some fun. I turned the bass boost up on the amp and set the gain correctly and this sub beats the hell out of my Explorer. The rear view mirror fell off when I put in a CD with heavy bass. I listened to rap for about 30 mins and then I put in a Dave Matthews CD. The sound quality of this sub is awesome as well. I've never heard Dave Matthews slam like this before. It feels like that kick drum is kicking my chest. If anyone wants a sub with good SPL and great SQ look into this sub.

Once I get my Clarion amp for my components back I'll take pics of everything in my system.

what type of amp do you have? how much was your sub?

Sounds good MrSteve. I am glad you like it. I can't wait to get my Perfect in. I was talking to a guy at the local stereo place while I was getting some stuff for my box and he said he has heard many of the Perfects and said they sound incredible, so I am really looking forward to getting it. How many watts are you running to the sub? I want to know how well mine will do with the 400 watts and I know the Type R is supposed to be similar to the Perfect. I love it when I am in my friend's truck (he has 2 audioahn 12's) and when he puts in Metallica it sounds like the bass drum is right behind you and it just sounds amazing.

I have a GS Designs amp. It's made by the same people who make Autotech amps. This thing is killer. The sub was about $140 shipped from www.thezeb.com

I've got about 350-370 watts going to the sub. The amp is rated @ 350 watts bridged @12v. The voltage meter on the amp has my voltage constantly in the 14-15v range so I know I've got more than 350 going to it.

Dude, that sounds pretty sweet! How much air space does that sub need? Glad it all went well for your Mrsteve.

Jon

The sub only needs .7-1.0 cubes. The box I got is about 1.2 cubes so i just screwed some MDF I had lying around on the inside of the box to decrease the airspace.

for the first time today i saw someone who was nutz enough to put 2 15" juggers in an explorer hooked to RF amps....

uhm...okay i can see an heavy bass is fun , but this guy can actaully drive thru an shopping mall parking lot and set car alarms off left and right....

but altogether it's pretty sweet, i just wonder how long he can hide it from the cops ;)

I can set off alarms no prob with my 2 eclipse 12's w/ the right tune playin.....what is the material the Alpine Type-R's cone is made of?
Pete

The cone is Kevlar reinforced pulp.

the juggernaut's are sick!!

I just finished a 12cubic foot ported box for 4 juggernaut 12s. it is going in Edgerin James' suburban. I won't be able to hear it until tomorrow. In the past, I've done some systems with the Jugg 15s and there are outrageous. Did an F150 with 3 jugg 15s and 3600 watts of power to the subs. the truck was built for show purposes, NOT for SPL competition. Even still, the f-150 hit 152 dB the same night we fired it up.

Andrew

The Juggs are a great SPL sub. But I am looking for SQ and I found a good mix of SPL and SQ with the Type-R.
