15.9 Mpg

More of a rhetorical question than anything, but why is it that my 06 Explorer will never get 15.9MPG on the display, it is either 15.8 or 16. Same ting happens at 18.9...

Am I being ****, yes. But what is the programming bug here?

With MPG on the display hit the Reset button and see what happens. Thats my only suggestion.

It usually jumps 2 numbers 7 to 9, 5 to 7, etc. The highest I got was 25.7 MPG going 63 with the cruise control on. I set the "gallons used" to double check.

Yeah, I've noticed it usually changes in increments on .2 MPG. But, every once in a while it will hit those elusive middle digits too.

Last week, I got 26.7 MPG @63 MPH, 62 degrees outside. I doubled checked by resetting the gallons used at the beginning of the trip. There was no wind, and I assume the flat road, 5-20W oil, recent alignment and recharged K & N filter has something to do with it.

If you have the V8 that's really good... too bad it can't maintain that #
