I'm shopping for tires and wheels on tirerack for my 96 Explorer XLT and every set of wheels has the warning: Aggressive fitment. May require lift for proper fitment.

Will I run into any issues replacing the 15x7 alloy rims with some 15x8 with -19mm offset and 3.700" backspacing?

Thanks,
Jesse

they will stick out more than the stock, but it depends mostly on what tires you put on them,,
the backspacing is pretty close just the edge of the rim is wider, add a wider tire and it may contact the lip of the fender at the back of the opening, or the edge of the bumper in the front,,

what sized tires are you looking at putting on ??
that will help us know

I'm planning on sticking with the standard size. The original alloy ones leak like like crazy. Here's the tires I was planning on buying.

The new rims i'm looking at are 15x8
offset: -19mm
backspacing 3.700"

Thanks

they will work pretty good on them rims,, it will even make the Explorer feel a little more stable
should be no rubbing issues there

I'm gonna go ahead and order them. TireRack even mounts and balances them. The whole set after shipping is only $800. I just wanted something practical that I don't have to add air to every week.

Thanks again!

You should be fine!

I bought my tires and rims there and they did a great job..mounted and balanced with new lugs.
I would buy from them again.
