1987 Ford Ranger GT

I know this forum is mostly for helping people with trucks but I was thinking mabey you guys could help me with my homework?

I have googled for a while now and there are two things on this truck (1987 Ford Ranger GT) that I cannt find. I cannot find specs on the car or how it got its name. If somone could help me find these I'd appriciate it a lot.

the GT package was basically an appearance thing. If I recall, the GT's were all long beds with a ground effects package and a special grill. I'm wanting to say they all came with the 2.8 or the 2.9 engines. Check rangerpowersports.com. They'll be able to give you all kinds of information on it.

There was no gt in 87 according to this information. The Ranger GT was only available 2 years-88 and 89

I think the 87 is a typo--
