1991 Explorer pedal to the floor!!! HELP!!

I find it interesting that no one has given a thought to a faulty abs servo control module or valve. I'm having the same problem but my pedal went straight to the floor just 2 days ago. I haven't changed or adjusted anything yet, nor was this a "growing" problem. Mine was just all of a sudden. My '91 Ex is now parked in the garage and I'm driving my '69 VW bug to and from work. My fluid was down just a little, but no drops or residue to be seen anywhere. I hate to think that I'll have to take it to a professional for something that I should be able to fix.

The ABS system could be to blame, yes, and that's a good reminder for any future thread searchers, but the most likely, cheapest, and easiest to repair solutions have been proposed first as a method of elimination. We all *hope* for the easiest repair :)
Good thinking bringing up an un-mentioned system though :)

-edit-
If your pedal is going to the floor, no resistance, no leaks, that is indicative of inner parts failure in the hydraulic system...From my knowledge, ABS isn't completely hydraulic, and relies on other engine systems to operate. An engine on/engine off test may be a good way to rule out ABS.

Makes sense Scrivy. Just thought I'd mention the ABS system. I had a similar problem a few years back and it cost me a small fortune to repair the ABS system. This time, however, I think I'll focus on the Master Cylinder seals.

You have rear drum brakes? If so, are they adjusted properly? If not, there will be a lot of travel for the cylinder pistons before shoes hit drums, that would cause this.

I've had this problem before as well. Didn't blow out the wheel cylinder. but the pedal still felt solid. Just no rear wheel braking on that side. The wheel cylinder notch slipped out the back of the shoe. The car wanted to pull to the opposite side when the brakes were applied.
