1992 Ford Explorer 4 Wheel Drive Dome Lights will not turn off.

Hello all Ford Explorer owners. I would appreciate any advise as to why my dome lights will not turn off. I checked all the doors, the headlights/dash board/ interior light switch. I had to unscrew the bulbs, so the next time I had to go somewhere, my battery would not be dead. 1992 Ford Explorer 4-W-D.

There is a button type switch in the door jam of each door. Try fiddling with them to see if it shuts off.

do more than fiddle with them, pull them out carefully (due to age) and see which one with a multi-meter does not close the switch. If you can not afford the switch just jumper them and tape them off.

But really you might find corrosion in the switches and the wiring. Which makes it hard to tell. So clean them good
