1992 Ford Ranger
Hi folks! I have had my Ranger for about a year, it didn't come with a manual and this is my first Ranger, not my first Ford truck. Looking forward to finding answers to my little red ranger. Right now it is not starting and have done several things, don't want it just sittin' in the drive way. Not sure which way to go with this.

Welcome new member ! , Well in my opinion , it all depends on the amount of money invested , and if it's worth it to you to fix it , just now noticed your a female , Which is awesome , but there is and Explorer Babes section that doesnt get much use

So what have you tried so far?

Well Bruce since this is my primary ride I guess at some point I need to fix it, is it worth it, right now not sure. It has about 45,000 miles on it so I'd say it's not a total loss, and as for "Exlporer Babes" im here for technical help not to hang out with a bunch of babes with trucks. I'm pretty old school, I work ony own stuff including my '63 Triumph hard tail. I'm not a mechanic but I have been working on vehicles since I was 16, I'm almost 50 now, so I'm not a total stranger to the under side of a hood or truck. I don't mean to sound *****y but like my handle says I get tired of "your just a girl".

Well, I am also old school, my mother and father taught me to hold the door for ladies. ;):D

I'd say the membership on this forum is swayed 101 male to 1 female, so, please forgive us if we seem enthusiastic.

Thank you. Gentlemen who hold the door these days are rare. So rare in fact not sure what I'd do if that happened. Lol again thank you. I can appreciate enthusiasm, don't have much these days but I can still appreciate it.

Happy Birthday as well

we still never got to the issue of what you have tried and what exactly is it doing when you attempt to start it

It would start on occasion once or twice, but mostly when I turned the key I would just get a dull click. I had the starter tested and was told it was good. I replaced the battery because the guy at autozone said my battery was nearly done. I replaced the solenoid and the switch on my clutch peddle. My gut was saying starter. My friend thought i should clean the cables at the starter, for me to get to them I had to pull the starter so while I had it out I took it to o'reilly's and told them to zap several times. Since it would start on occasion I told them to zap it four or five times, it failed on the third try and never passed on the next two. I replaced the starter, so far so good. I can't ever rember a start making this kind of sound so that's what threw me. Something to be said about listening to your gut. Thanks all for your input.
