Hey Gang, I'm almost done with my 1992 Explorer A4LD. I have 2 bolts leftover from having the transmission out and back in and 2 of us have looked all over the bottom for where they go. They are unique. They have a long shoulder. I've had it apart for long enough that I don't recall where they go.

I'm going to look again after lunch

I have those same bolts from taking a v6 truck apart (the 07 ranger)
They do NOT go inside the transmission
Those are either bellhousing bolts or? I know this because I have two of them, yet the 07 Ranger 5r55e automatic transmission is still 100% together LOL, so they must go outside the trans.....somewhere?
Ill see if I can figure this out in the shop today
Feel confident they do not go inside your a4ld

They were on the deck of the 4 post lift with the muffler/cat assembly and hardware. I'm looking around for a metric nut to install the heat shield now. The 4, 12 point-12 mm driveshaft bolts are in the flange. I'm gonna see if they might be a trans bellhousing bolt here shortly.

All good. Thanks Jamie. At first they didn't look big enough to be bellhousing bolts. But they are.

I have all of the bolts in the transmission bellhousing. I put the two with the shoulders in the top holes.
This is a lot easier if the muffler/converter and the crossmember are not install yet.
Tuesday when I was attempting to make these torque converter handles is when the low side of the regulator gauge blew up.

They enable you to install the converter straight on to the input/pump shaft to help keep from damaging
the front seal

SHARDS FROM THE REGULATOR we found a very low percentage of the pieces. None were found of the outer part

Ouchies! Could have been so much worse

15mm head on bolt is bellhousing
13mm head is starter

Love the tc handles! Great idea
