1993 Eddie bauer
I’m new to the forum, got some really good advice and seen some Awesome pictures of modified explorers.so thanks!

I had a 94 XLT in high school and now I scooped a 93 Eddie Bauer with 100k miles. Stored inside, 1 owner (family friend), in relatively great condition. Some pics below (she’s the white one)

I would like to modify it a little to make it slightly more attractive. Nothing major. I have put aside about $2k to put into it (give or take) and I added a few pictures of what I would like her to look like.

Any advice on lift and wheels would be greatly appreciated! I know I need new strut bushings and front shocks (according to my mechanic)

Thanks in advance!

2K will go a long way towards making it look right!
Are you okay with the white paint? paint jobs from white to green are lots of $$$$
Your explorer does not have struts, it likely needs new radius arm bushings and shocks
Time to consider a 1.5-2" lift kit
Basically you can get new front 1.5" lift coils and 4 shocks from Skyjacker, then run warrior shackles in the back and this will give you a nice 2" suspension lift.
All the other modifications pictured are just cosmetic, paint, wheels and nice off road tires

Welcome to EF! Nice Gen 1 !!! 93 is a very good year for the explorer, my favorite years are 93, 96 and then 2001

Thanks a lot for the reply! I’m gonna have a look at those parts you mentioned! I think I’ll keep the white, I looked at a paint job but since it’s in such good condition, I’ll leave it be for now!

Do you know if the modifications you mentioned for the lift would effect the 4x4? Living in south Florida, I doubt the 4x4 will ever come in handy but I intend to take her to the west in the coming years (colorado, Utah, California).

Thanks in Advance!

Those parts work perfectly with the 4wd
Even if you do not use the 4x4 where you live, at least 2 maybe 3 times a year you should find a dirt or soft road and engage the 4x4, drive it forward and back a few times, shift it in and out of 2wd, 4 hi and 4 low...just to keep things moving under there.... otherwise when you head out West and really need it you will push the button and nothing will happen.... exercise the automatic shift 4wd and auto hubs from time to time!!

By the way, 410fortune, I forgot to mention, what type of tires would you recommend with what you mentioned above? I really like the look of that green explorer (speaking of tires and suspension) I just want some small adjustment that will look good for me.

Any links from the skyjacker page? It would be greatly appreciated !

Thanks again!
