Which sensor/sender did you change? The single pole is for the dash temperature gauge. The one with the 2 wire connector sends the coolant temperature to the PCM.

thanks Mekelly, i changed the 2 wire sensor cannot locate the 1 wire sensor, how can i tell if the gauge in dash is bad?

Follow the upper radiator hose back to the thermostat housing.

If the gauge is bad you can always buy an after market gauge and hook it up. They're usually pretty cheap less than $20 usually.

i changed the other sensor the gauge is working kind of sluggish compared to my 99 ford tarus, i will change the thermostat and see what happens. Thanks your advice was very helpful.

No problem. I have dealt with this issue more than once.

If you need more room to change the thermostat, you can remove the belt tensioner for real estate. I have bigger hands, so I need all the room I can get.
