Just for Kicks I thought you guys might like to know the BMEP of the 1993 Explorer. It is based on:
1993 Ford Explorer 4.0 Liter 244ci V6 Push Rod
-Peak 160hp @ 4200 and 200lbsft @ 4200
-Peak 220lbsft @ 3000 and 125hp @ 3000
BMEP = 123 psi at Peak HP
BMEP = 135 psi at Peak Torque
For reference 180 psi was state of the art 20 years ago and a stock 1980 Porsche 924 Carrera Turbo is 157psi. And BMEP = Brake Mean Effective Pressure. This kind of makes the explorer seem really outdated. but dang if I still love it. I am having fun in my VRI Courses.
