- 1993 Green Explorer XLT
Greetings, i've been reading this forum for quite some time and finally decided to register. I have a green 1993 Ford Explorer XLT with 185,000 miles on it, and its my first car. Recently i've decided I wanted to do some upgrades and mods to it. I've been reading up on fiberglassing and thinking about making a custom center console, recovering seats, new speakers, as well as adding new shocks. I want to put in a lift kit and get shocks to do some minor offroading, nothing major. From what i've gathered here bilsteins shocks seem to be the popular pick for shocks, as they have a good price to quality ratio. Also i'm looking at stuff like a edelbrock fuel pump, Air Raid air intake (since I can't seem to find a K&N for it), and a flowmaster muffler. I'm hoping to restore some of its lost power and acceleration and make it run for another 100k miles. Any suggestion or ideas you have are welcomed as I am by no means an expert on cars, or even anything close lol.
