The transmission locks in park or drive and will not release until I wait for awhile and jiggle the shift lever. I am not sure if it is a heat issue or a sticking solenoid. I suspect it is the interlock solenoid but I am not sure where to look now. I have replaced the "Neutral Safety Switch" with no luck. I think the shift interlock solenoid may be the only other thing. The problem is I cant find anything that tells me exactly where it is located. If anyone can tell me where it is or has some other ideas PLEASE help. :us:

Started back working on this problem this morning. The vehicle has been sitting all night and complete cooled. Now works normal! This leads me to think a heated solenoid or maybe the control module. A post on this site gave a detailed description of all of the attached peripherals to the transmission. Here is one I thought may indicate the ECM/PCM "Brake Pedal Position (BPP) Switch

The brake pedal position (BPP) switch tells the powertrain control module (PCM) when the brakes are applied. The torque converter clutch disengages when the brakes are applied. The BPP switch closes when the brakes are applied and opens when they are released. The BPP is also used to disengage the brake shift interlock." Does anyone have any other thoughts?

Well I went back at it again. I did have a lock up again so I thought I would try the ECM/PCM. I happened to have an extra one so I replaced it with the spare. BINGO! I have been driving it for 2 days with out a lock up. It does have a little hard time going into park at times but it has not locked up. I'm not sure if it is completely fixed yet. I'm still looking for an answer as to where the Shift Interlock Solenoid (part # B05001) is located. We'll see this week if it locks up I'll post another message if it does. Wish me luck.
