Hello all. This is my first post here. I found the forum via a google search, like I did for my UniMog and Vanagon.
We've recently acquired an Aerostar, and have begun to address issues.
I'm working on a bad shimmy problem that occurs at about 25-30mph. I've swapped the rims/tires front to back to see if that would make a difference.
While loosening the lugs on the right front wheel, I noticed that it wasn't spinning freely. The wheel seems to be frozen.
Could this have something to do with the shimmy, and what could be the likely cause of the frozen wheel?
I recently paid a neighbor to replace a rear brake cylinder, shoes and front pads, and noticed that he didn't replace the pads on the suspect wheel. Could the brake caliper be engaged thus not allowing the wheel to turn?
