Hi everyone, my son has a 94 explorer 4wd that he purchased a little over a year ago and we just used the 4wheel low button for the first time ( and quite possibly the first time for the vehicle also) last weekend in the desert. It took about 20 sec to get it in low range but worked great for about two hours running around in the sand dunes then when we were done we tried to take it out of low range and nothing would work. We read the manual and did what it said but nothing seemed to work we checked the fuses and they were good. I have been asking people that have electronic 4wd systems and they all seem to say that they always take forever to get out of low range and to try going in reverse then putting it in neutral and things like that but we already tried that for about a half hour. My main question is, is there a chance that it could be stuck just because low range has never been used or is it more likely an electrical problem?
