1994 R-12 or R-134a??

Just wanted to know if anyone out there knows if a 94 explorer takes the r-12 or r-134 coolant or where I can find out which one it takes. As you all know, there is a huge price difference. Thanks

There should be an sticker under the hood wich will tell you what it has most of the newer 1994 and up have 134A refrigirant the older ones have R-12.

wally and k world seel retrofit kits to go from r-12 to 134A wich will run you about 30 bucks, i suggest when the time comes your R12 system needs recharging to retrofit the system to 134A, it's a hell of alot cheaper then R12.

and you can do it yourself,

just dont get caught releasing the R12 , cause that is against the law, however you could go to an local shop and have the system emptied and put under an low vacuum so you can charge it yourself (that's what i did)
