1995 Aerostar. Impact sensor location.

Yesterday airbag light started blinking. Blinked 4times paused then 4 times. Looked up the code and it said. RH PRIMARY CRASH SENSOR NOT MOUNTED TO VEHICLE PROPERLY (CODE 44) (Index). Where is the sensor located?

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the Aerostar section. What's the code number? Always disconnect the battery, and wait a minimum of 10 minutes before working on the SRS.

Air Bag Sensor

Thanks for the help. As far as I can tell it blinks 4 x then pause and 4 x. So I guess it has a code of 44?

44 = Right hand primary crash sensor is not mounted properly to the vehicle. This is the sensor on the right hand kick panel. The other sensor is mounted near the center of the radiator.

Impact sensor

Can't remember is Right the driver side or passenger side as you stand in front of the van. As for the kick panel, is it easier to do it from under the van or under the hood? Can you get to the sensor via the accesses pannel under the dash? What does the sensor look like? I noticed yesterday the ground strap , I guess fromt he body to the engine is hanging. Could this be part of the problem? Thanks for the help.

It's behind the plastic panel under the dashboard on the passenger's side of the vehicle. You will see the inertial switch as well as other things in that area.
