1995 Auto-tranny Front Seal???

Here Is The Problem: Driving Down The Highway And Tranny Just Starts Pushing Tranny Fluid All Over...it Looks Like It Is Coming From Inside The Bellhousing..thought It Was A Front Seal But Autozone And Advance Dont Carry Any Front Seals In There Computers...any Help Would Be Great? Im Lost!

How many miles on your tranny? I have a '92 with 125,000 and it's doing the same thing. Just had a new front seal installed and on first trip to the mountains it lost enough fluid to make a huge mess and quit working. Topped off fluid, made it home OK but it's clear there is a problem. Went to a tranny shop and they said it's common with the A4LD with over 100,000 miles and it's NOT a seal problem per se but a problem internally that is causing high pressure to blow fluid past even a good seal. I'm having mine completely rebuilt for $1800 to ensure no more breakdowns. Funny thing though, with enough fluid it shifts and sounds great. I always thought there'd be more subtle symptoms as it wore out.
