1996 exp couple issues advice?

first of all i have a strange sound coming out from under the hood every now and then, as soon as i pop the hood to find it it normally stops, sounds similar to a horn going off, its pretty loud can hear it going down the road, i almost got the hood popped before it stopped today seems to be coming from the air filter box area under the hood, number two i got a sound comeing from the driver side hitting bumps kind of rattle that sound similar to bells i was thinking bad up'er ball joint but it makes a grouning grindish sound turned left so maybe a hub? does sound like a cv axel pop im use to hearing. any advice before i got to throwing parts at it and or trying to trace it would help alot for me to pin point the problem. thanks! the "horn" sound is likely your IAC valve. you can try removing and cleaning it, but you may need to get a new one.

ok thanks man because every time i would attempt to find out where it was coming from it would go away haha. I will hand handle that today then jack my front end up and see what kinda issue is going on with that driver side.
