I did a search and perhaps I'm the only one with this problem. I know on the grand scheme of things it is a nit, however... Is there a trick to keeping the
rear widow wiper grommet in place? The thing keeps popping out on mine, has done ever since I bought it new but I never griped about it. It is annoying to
keep poking it back into the hole on the rear door and more seriously I'm afraid water getting inside may lead to rust on the inside of the door panel. It seems every time I have to use the wiper it must bind and make the grommet pop out. I figure either it is some sort of alignment issue or it needs some sort of rubber safe lubricant.

Anyone else here have the same issue and fixed it? If so I'd appreciate hearing how you did it..

Many thanks,

Jerry

My son had the same problem on his 95. The wiper motor is loose inside. Until it is tightened the grommet will continue to come loose everytime the motor is turned on.
You need to take the inside cover off of the rear hatch and check the wiper motor mounts. There is a rubber bushing with a nut inside that had popped out of its mount. We took the bolt loose from the nut and re installed it so we could tighten it down. No trouble since that time. Hope this helps.

Just like DaExplorer says - the motor shifts when used. I would recommend changing the little sissified rubber covered nuts on the motor mount bracket with good old fashioned steel ones... the rubber gets brittle, cracks, and then the nut works loose.....
