:salute:Hello Ford Enthusiasts! Im Tee, new to this forum. Just bought my used Explorer for $500 in October. Replaced windshield, tires, brake pads, fluids and filters. Took a leap of faith and Eddie took me all the way to Ohio from Va and back. Oh yeah, had that Lamp Out Module problem with headlights, little soldering and like new. I am having issue with intermittent odometer and inoperable odometer. Im sure the VSS will solve the speedometer but no sure bout odometer. Probably just need new guage cluster all together. Also, sputtering at idle. Didnt change spark plugs so thats my next move along with new EGR valve. Also, notice battery indicator fluctuates when in idle (below 50%) and during acceleration returns to normal reading. In idle interior lights clicking, i assume due to low voltage. Looking into change alternator, battery, and starter in one shot! Drive belt is good but idle pulley chirping like a maniac, spray it with silicone lubricant and quiet as kept. Any ideas, suggestions, experiences are greatly appreciated............

There is a motor with a worm gear that runs the odometer and that worm gear has been known to break. You can replace the worm gear with one from a junk yard cluster if there is a yard near you and you are so inclined.

Try cleaning the EGR and test the DPFE, EVR before you go and spend the money on a new one.

Check and clean all the battery terminals and cables before replacing anything. It may help to upgrade the battery wires to a bigger gauge to help with charging. Have the battery the alt and the starter tested at a local auto parts store to see which one may be the culprit. No sense in spending money on parts you may not need.
