okay short story car sat for 3 years sent it to have clutch master and slave cylinders and general maintenance. Ended up with another transmission transfer case and new clutch throw out bearings master and slave cylinders and clutch. Now with everything replaced it will pop out of gear while driving if I let it coast anytime since I got it back and most recently reverse pops out if I take my foot off the pedal or don’t baby it. I also had to drop the front drive shaft because the 4 wheel drive locked up. I do not want to pump more money into this because my suspicion is I got ripped by my mechanic. And if I have to get another trans I’m doing it myself. I’m hoping someone can point me to what might be loose or looked over

I definitely think you need to find a better mechanic.
If you didn't have these same issues before hand he has obviously done a dodgy job.
As we all know if a jobs not done right it ain't done right and will only resume with ongoing problems.

Can you shift into Reverse and 1st easily when stopped and the clutch pushed in? Or do you have to fight it a bit?

Could be your box shift linkage not being adjusted right or badly worn synchros.
Is your box fluid low or contaminated also check the box mounts for any looseness or fatigue.

Manual transmissions should sit for years just fine. Worst case is the seals dry. If they swapped it, I’d get the original one back.

Why was it replaced?

Why was the transfer case replaced?
