I have a 97 explorer, 4.0 OHV, seems to run and drive smooth, put a new coil pack on, have spark, assuming fuel injectors work, what else could it be? I love the truck and don't want to sell it, but I owe more than it's worth. Anyone have any good solutions?

Maybe the spark plug wires? Possibly they are not making complete contact on the spark plugs or on the coils. I have learned that driving my Explorer, I tend to go over speed bumps, pot holes and other bumps on the road "rougher" than I would with a normal car; doing this might loosen the connection at the spark plugs. I myself have found them to be loose, after having a misfire I could not fix until then.
