An oldie from here: Ford Explorer Overhead Console Installation
specifically: The temperature sensor located near the front driver side near the radiator. It is 2"-3" long and about as thick as a cigar. It will have 2 wires hanging out the back.

Open the driver side headlight flap under the hood look down
If you need a pic ill take one for you

I'm not being sarcastic !

I believe you. I'm going to remove a sensor from a JY vehicle next time that I go there. Thanks y'all.

@donalds Is the sensor sort of under the headlight next to the antilock brakes harness/connector?

Yes on mine its under the driver head light

im quite sure mine is no longer in the stock spot, as it hangs down below in the fenderwell now, i see it once in a while but never knew what it was :banghead:

Anyone else have their temp reading off a bit? Mine always seems to be showing at least 3F colder than actual temp. This is not something that's changed/degraded recently, has done this from new AFAIK.

mine seems to be somewhat accurate? it hasnt been off more than 2 usually, so nothing much imo. then again, mine isnt in the right place anyways
