I have a bad thermostat housing on a 1997 Mountaineer with 5.0L V8. This one has a pressed in tube for a coolant hose approxiamately 5/8 in diameter which has rusted out. I went to AutoZone to buy a new one and the one they have listed is entirely different. This is not the two piece housing. One piece-cast-90 degree angle from the block face and points straight up. All the ones I see online are an angled housing approx 45 degrees. I did find one that is a 90 degree housing, but it has a threaded hole for a sensor that mine doesnt have. Anybody have this problem? I think I'm looking to fill the "hole" on the one I have, but no luck with correct threads as of yet. Looks like pipe fitting, but 1/2" and 3/8" didnt seem to fit.

thanks in advance

Motorcraft lists 2 housings for your year:
45 degree angle (RH-50) for $60 and 90 degree angle (RH-37) for $120...
The 90 angle is the newer one, used in all 2000 and 2001 V8.
